We once again return to the marriage of King David and Abishag. In the first article (Part 1: “King David’s Marriage To 12 Year Old Abishag – Bible“), we covered how old King David and Abishag was when they were married. David at the time was 70, and Abishag was 12 years old, as ancient Rabbis explained the Hebrew word used to describe her in the Bible.

Speculating again without any evidence.
There is no evidence of her exact age.
You can’t seriously expect us to believe that a girl is young at 12 and becomes old at 13.
You still can’t get down to nine years from the bible. That must be frustrating for you.

1 Kings 1:4 – The woman was very beautiful; she took care of the king and waited on him, but the king had no sexual relations with her.
I didn’t want to comment on here after the last time I pointed out dishonesty and double standards but once again the amount of dishonesty truly shocks me.
1st of all David was on his death bed about to die any time soon. He did not marry nor have sexual relations with Abishag, she was not his wife.
These articles on David and Abishag are a waste of time. What a shame.

Here’s a Hadith I found from sahih Muslim:
I order you to be truthful, for indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness, and indeed righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and strives for truthfulness until he is written as a truthful person with God. And beware of falsehood, for indeed falsehood leads to sinning, and indeed sinning leads to the Fire. A man continues to tell lies and strives upon falsehood until he is written as a liar with God.
Whoever the author of “discover the truth” is, if it’s you Faiz I am calling you out for your dishonesty.
You may be trying to retaliate to dishonest Christian apologists who apply double standards to Islam but to respond to dishonesty by being dishonest yourself is illogical.

I don’t see the problem our Christian friends have in the notion that David may have married Abishag?

The problem is its unverified so to claim it as truth is dishonesty. Nowhere does the passage say that David married Abishag. He was an old man on his death bed which is exactly why they brought her to him, yet they had no sexual relations and David ended up dying shortly after choosing Solomon to be the next King, all of which occurred in that same passage.
Besides that, even if you were to argue that David married her that’s as far as your argument goes. There’s nothing more to say. David died and didn’t have sex with her. The fact that 3 or however many articles are needed to talk about this one little thing says a lot about the insecurity of the author and his or her supporters.
I’ve checked Jewish sources and non of them say that David married Abishag.

Nor do any sources say she was 12.
How people can make up stories of false marriages and false age numbers without any evidence or verified sources is beyond me.
But hey, as Solomon says “there is nothing new under the sun”.

Evidence comes directly from your own christian scholars.
What other opinion is there besides Abishag being a wife or a concubine? Please show us tge other opinion that we know nothing of.
I think the authors agreed there was no sexual intercourse, however, this was due to his old age and David being WEAK.

I fail to understand the Muslim reasoning behind this post.
1st as has been pointed out no where does it say she was 12 years old. But even if she was so what?
Whats the point and the purpose?
The only thing I can think of and I’m sure this is the reason is to make some comparison between Mohamed and David.
This fails for a number of reasons.
1.David’s behavior is not the perfect example for mankind, like Mohamed behavior is the perfect example for Muslims. David committed adultery that does not mean we can commit adultery. David even committed murder by proxy to cover up his adultery that does not mean we can do the same.These things are SINS in Christ.
2. David again does not set the standard for the age of marriage. Christians have and should have no problems as to what was done a few thousand years ago. Marrying young was the norm at the time do to several factors. One being a shorter life span. Which is not the case today. So that was then and this is now.
What is an issue and what should be the issue in regards to Mohamed and Aisha is the following.
1. Mohamed to Muslims is the perfect example of mankind, anything he did 1400 years ago in the Arabian desert. Muslims can do in any age and in any culture.
2 With what we know today about human and especially female anatomy it should be evident to anyone that having sex with a 9 year old girl is biologically wrong. Not only wrong but posses serious health risks even death to the young girl. Health risks than could be reduced or even negated if the age of the girl was say 12 years old and not 9 years of age. Twelve ain’t nine and nine ain’t 12.
One of those sever health risks is “Obstetric fistula (or vaginal fistula) is a medical condition in which a fistula (hole) develops between either the rectum and vagina (see rectovaginal fistula) or between the bladder and vagina (see vesicovaginal fistula) after severe or failed childbirth, when adequate medical care is not available.”
So as you can see there is no comparison between what Mohamed did with Aisha and what Muslims can do to this day with 9 year old child brides and with David allegedly marrying a 12 year old bride. If such a thing is true but there is no evidence to back that up like there is with the age of Aisha.
Finally Muslims I want you to think about this. What kind of a man would have sex with a 9 year old girl? Really think about that. I’m not talking about 1400 years ago, I’m talking about today. What kind of a man in this day and age would want to have sex with a 9 year old?
Because thanks to Mohamed that is exactly what can and what is being done in Muslim societies in this day and age.

MOhammed married a 6 year old, and had sex with her when she was 9. Muslim sources also report that even before he started having sex with the little girl, he used to fondle her while she bathed.
And muslims are supposed to view mohammed’s actions as an example for all time. Do you fondle little girls when they are bathing? Do you think it’s okay to do that? Would you have sex with a 9 year old?
This things are absolutely disgusting and no moral person could possibly work so hard to defend such behaviour unless they were so rainwashed by their religion that they would do everything in their power to defend it.
SO what is your answer? Do you defend the right of muslim men to have sex with children based on the example set by mohammed? Paul Williams is all for it – are you a pervert too?

Misionaries get really emotional, say things without any proof.
1. Abishag being 12 years old when married to 70 year old King David is attested in every writing by ancient Rabbis.
To deny the word Na’arah as not describing someone who is 12, is your own made up thinking trying to deny something which is agreed historically.
2. The bigger issue for missionaries is how Jesus your god of the Old Testament didn’t say a word against David marrying a 12 year old. Which shows that Jesus god in flesh you missionaries follow/emulate and hold as perfect example for mankind to follow had no problem king David marrying a 12 year old in the Bible.
Some claim that such marriage is not condoned, could someone please show us evidence from the Bible where such marriage, at such age is forbidden. Go ahead, give us clear scriptural evidence.
3. The claim that he had sexual intercourse does NOT negate the fact that he MARRIED her.
Many missionaries still haven’t answered the questions in regards to the three articles on Abishag being married. Why do modernists ignore ALL Christian scholarship that say she was married to her? What other opinion do you hold that we know not, show us the evidence from your so called scholars, if tbey exist.

According to the Jewish Virtual Library: The fact that David did not make Abishag his legal wife is explained as due to his refusal to exceed the traditional number of wives (18) allowed to a king.
Jewish Encyclopedia: David did not marry her…
Jewish Women’s Archive: She therefore demands that David take her as a wife. The king refuses, on the pretext that the king is forbidden to have an excessive number of wives.
So once again, David did not marry Abishag.

Naarah has many meanings none of which means 12, in this context it means young woman. We don’t know exactly how old she was, stop making up numbers.
And why try to slander Christians about marrying 12 year olds when Muhammad married a 9 year old and many follow his example in Muslim nations today and marry kids. I don’t use that point against Muhammad but I use it against people like you who try to apply double standards.
