Reblogged from today’s Telegraph

Islam is the only religion growing faster than the world’s population, and it will be the largest in the world by 2070, research has found.

US-based Pew Research Centre analysed demographic change among the world’s major religions and found that the world’s population of Muslims will grow by 73 per cent between 2010 and 2050, compared to 35 per cent for Christians, the next fastest-growing faith.

The world’s population will grow by 37 per cent over the same period. If those rates of growth continue past 2050, Muslims will outnumber Christians by 2070, the report found.

It also says that Muslims will make up 10 per cent of Europe’s population.

In 2010 there were 1.6bn Muslims in the world, and 2.17bn Christians. By 2050, there will be 2.76bn Muslims and 2.92bn Christians – and if both religions continue at that rate of growth, Islam will have a larger number of followers than Christianity by 2070.

Atheists, agnostics and non-religious people will decline from 16.4 per cent of the world’s population to 13.2 per cent by 2050, the report added, despite growing in Europe and North America.

The changes are partly due to the various fertility rates each religion has. Muslims have the highest, at 3.1 children per woman, followed by Christians, at 2.7.

Islam also has a much younger follower-base than other religions, meaning believers still have childbearing years ahead. 34 per cent are aged under 15, compared to a global average of 27 per cent.

Christianity is also likely to suffer as more converts leave to become non-religious or to join other faiths, the report predicted.

Around 40 million people are projected to switch into Christianity globally, while 106 million are predicted to leave.

The report also summarises findings from a survey last year into European attitudes towards Muslims.

“Majorities in Hungary, Italy, Poland and Greece say they view Muslims unfavorably, while negative attitudes toward Muslims are much less common in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Northern and Western Europe.

“People who place themselves on the right side of the ideological scale are much more likely than those on the left to see Muslims negatively,” it said.

  1. Islam will become the largest religion in the world without the sword?
This doesn’t fit into the narative of David Wood, Jay Smith and Robert Spencer co.

Looks like the Santa Monica Pier in L.A. in the background?

  4. What I find interesting is that the places with the most negative attitudes towards Muslims in Europe have very few Muslims living there so those people are basing their impressions of Muslims on news whilst the places in Europe with the least negative views concerning Muslims are those places with the most Muslims.

Interaction with Muslims in real life is so important to help dispel the negativity from certain media outlets. There are a lot of Italians and Polish people in the UK, it could be a good opportunity for Muslims to reach out to these people so they can relay a more positive view of Muslims to their friends and family in their countries of origin.

    • Yahya,
      Interaction is key, so true.

We must represent the true and traditional understanding of Islam by living up to our roles as positive examples of the religion and acting as good will ambassadors to those who are living under misperceptions and fear of Islam. When people meet Muslims and can relate to them on a personal level, the negative bias and stereotypes will soon be exchanged for a more accurate understanding of Islam and who Muslims are and the positive ideals we truly stand for.

  5. It is true that demographics have contributed to the growth of Islam. However, I think that high birth rates among Muslim is often focused on in order to draw attention away from another equally powerful reason for growth – Conversions.

Many Christians would like for us to believe that there is no reason that anyone would want to convert to any religion other than theirs. However, this is not true. Anyone who can put aside the misinformation of Islamophobic stereotypes, hate, bigotry fear, etc., and takes an honest look – with open heart and mind – will undoubtedly see the logical truth and peaceful beauty that is inherent in Islam. Islam continues to attract converts and grow because it is religion which speaks to the human heart, mind and soul, calling and guiding each person to a better more fulfilling life lived in service to others and in communion and perfect harmony with the One True Divine Creator.

From the early stages, Islam spread both far and wide because it has one very clear cut message:
“I bear witness that there is no God worthy to be worshiped but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (PBUH) is the (final) Messenger of Allah.”
By reciting these words with belief in heart and mind one enters into the fold of Islam….it’s really that easy.

Yes, demographics play a role, but large numbers of conversions have exponentially increased an already fast growth rate for Islam. In the future, people leave Christianity searching for a religion that agrees not only with their heart but also with their mind, many will enter into the path of Islam.

“In the period 1990-2000, approximately 12.5 million more people converted to Islam than to Christianity” (Guinness World Records 2003, pg 102)

I encourage those who are seeking the truth, to come home to Islam…..the Religion of the Future!!!!!

We will welcome you with open arms!

Didn’t mention this when the world was handed over to trinitarian Christianity. So you shouldn’t mention this when the world is being handed over to strict monotheim.

So much wrong with this statement, but the biggest thing that is wrong is your claim that Islam is “strict monotheism”. Those are the things that I hear ISIS Muslims say, are you an ISIS Muslim?

But putting that aside, please explain how your belief in a half empty half solid deity is “Strict Monotheism”, and while your at it please let me know what your allah god will look like since he will appear to you in form closest to what you have in your mind.

    • But what is evil about Islam? It teaches that there is one God that we are the creation of God and our ultimate purpose in life is to submit to him alone and in so doing experience true peace, joy, and freedom.

That we should pray, give to the poor, honour our parents, be truthful etc…

So what is evil about Islam?

  7. About 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) prophesied that Islam, against all odds, shall be witnessed in every home throughout the whole whole:

    TRANSLATION:

“From Tameem Al-Daari (a personal disciple of the Prophet), who said that he heard the Prophet (SAW) says:

“Verily, Islam will reach where day and night have reached, and it will not leave a house of Madar or Wabar(any sort l of house) except Allah will cause Islam to be witnessed into it, in a manner that will honour the believers and disgrace the unbelievers.”

(Reference: Musnad Ahmed Hadith No.16998, Al M’ujam Al Kabeer At-Tabarani, Hadith No. 1280, Haakim, Hadith No. 8326. Shu’aib Arnaoot confirms that it is Sahih according to the condition of Sahih Muslim. Haakim declared it Sahih according to the conditions of Bukhari and Muslim. Zahabi also says in his Talkhees that it is according to the conditions of Bukhari and Muslim).

    • This Prophecy by Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH) is a verifiably true Prophecy, objectively so! He could not have known this nor imagined this, yet he (SAW) made the boldest prophecy! And this is coming true! This absolutely proves he is the Prophet of God!

By comparison, the Biblical Prophecies of Jesus and Paul have absolutely failed!!! And Jews rightly refer to them as False Prophets! What else should they call, men who fail their predictions? C.S Lewis agreed that Jesus is a False Prophet according to Mathew 24 :34 . Also other Prophecies in the Bible have clearly been Forged by unknown Men according to Bible Scholars, leaving the Bible with 0 credibility! Islamic Prophecies are real and fulfilled! Bible ones, false and forged, like Mark 16: 9-20, a forged text!

    Response:

He’s not god-man, which never exists logically. He’s absolutely Perfect, Infinite and Immutable Creator that its against these absolute qualities of His to change into (“become”) a a finite creature (man). He is One Individual Absolute God not three separate (distinct) individuals – each ‘fully God’ – which logically makes three fully gods. In short, وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

“and there is nothing that could be compared to him” (Qur’an 112: 4)

    لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ

“There is nothing like unto Him” (Quran 42:11)

Who tells you largest means nuclear? I think you are confused. Israel has nuclear but it is not largest. Pakistan has nuclear but it is not largest. France has nuclear but it is not largest.

Are you not hypocrite for not seeing Israel attacking most of its neighbours and fears Iran and wants the US to do that for it?Iran never attacked its neighbour and never attacks anyone. Why fear Iran but not Israel and the latter keeps attacking anyone and wants to attack the former but the former never attacks anyone? Christian hypocrisy and hardcore evangelical zionist who want to cause Armageddon and blame it on others.

      Thanks.

  11. Trinitarian Christianity is already a minority view in the camp of Christendom; most Christians are subordinists or adoptionists believing that Jesus is a created being and not the Big Daddy Father God Ho Theos. The reason for this is easy: The NT depicts the Father as GOD ÀLONE and Jesus as His Slave and Prophet. So called Orthodoxy is not in the text. If Trinitarian dogma was obvious in the NT, most Christians would be Trinitarian. But as Dr Ehrman points out “Jesus is not YHWH for any of the writers of he NT. He is His Slave and Messenger”.

    • Yeah, except all of the most largest and prominent denominations are trinitarian. Dumb comment award goes to you!! 👏👏

  13. Why is everybody ignoring the demonstrably false prophecies of Jesus in the NT? Even C.S Lewis, the intellectual GodFather of Dr WIlliam Craig Lane, Nabeel Qureshi, Mike Licona, Dr Alister Mcgrath, Dr James Mcgrath etc accepted that Jesus made specific strictly time-based prophecies and undeniably failed them! Prof Bart Ehrman agrees in his Book Jesus: Apocalyptic Prophet of the New Millennium. And yet Christians confidently claim : “Muhammad is a False Prophet”. Can anybody explain please? I am confused!

    • The only explanation is that Christians prefer to follow their own emotions and opinions, rather than to follow logic, evidence, and the divine truth.

The prefer to defend and follow a false prophet like Saul into the falsehood of Trinitarianism, rather than to honestly follow Prophet Jesus (as) and Prophet Muhammad (sws) into the strict Monotheistic Unitarianism of Islam.

    • ‘Ibn Issam but why do Muslims ignore those passages as well? Rarely does an apologist take the Christians to task for those NT passages! Such as the Chapter in Mark 13; Mathew 24 34, Mark 13: 26-30, Luke 21 :27-32.
