Someone got the really intelligent idea to vandalise a Masjid (Mosque, Islamic Center). The criminal broke a few glass panes, a door, and damaged some woodwork. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
What stands out though is the Bible thrown into the Islamic Center’s prayer room. Not sure what logic the criminal was using. Maybe they thought the Bible would prevent Muslims from using the prayer room? Maybe they thought we viewed it as unclean as we do with pork? Maybe they thought the Bible would cast Muslims away?
This might sound absolutely ridiculous, but some people, especially extremist Christians do hold some crazy beliefs when it comes to Islam. There was an incident where Christians stood and threw crosses at a Muslim while he was praying… So it isn’t exactly a unique incident for an extremist Christian to do something as silly as this.
The center has a donation page set up at Go Fund Me, do donate and help them recover.

Funny how you assume this act was done by a Christian without the slightest of evidence but the rest of the world is islamophobic when we get annoyed that a muslim has murdered random people. And even then you haven’t attempted to demonstrate how such an act would fit within Christian ethics.

With a name like Joseph it is likely that the suspect is Christian. If nothing else, the stupidity of throwing a Bible into a Mosque, simply highlights the general ignorance and lack of accurate knowledge of the vast majority of such Islamophobes,

In marked contrast to many Christians, Muslims show great reverence to the Holy Word of God, as revealed to us in Al-Qur’an al-Kareem, ritually purifying ourselves with ablution before even touching it, kissing it after reading, guarding it from touching the floor, often storing it in an ornate box, or covering with fine cloth and placing it in a place of honor on top shelf so that nothing is above it.
Conversely I have often witnessed some Christians shamelessly leaving their Bible in the filthy bathroom, carelessly leaving it opened and laying on the floor, showing no respect to their own book whatsoever. I once saw a Christian irreverently using the Bible alternatively as a footrest or a doorstop, and another used it as a coaster for his drink!! These are not Christians who are guilty of a disregard of the ancient texts, but who actually believed in the holy texts, and were still mindlessly mistreating and physically disrespecting their own book. Of course this does not hold true for all Christians, and even though, as a Muslim I don’t personally believe in the Bible as the inerrant word of God, I realize that OTHER PEOPLE DO! That is why it pains me to see some people mistreat what they themselves believe to be the word of God (even though its not my book it is about showing respect for God and that which is holy). If such Christian’s as these do not respect their own book, then how in God’s name, do they expect anyone else to respect it?
Suffice it to say, that I am not surprised that a (likely Christian) vandal would intentionally throw his own holy book onto the floor presumably as some form of insult.
However, what I don’t understand is how that is an insult towards anyone other than God himself.

Great description of idolatrous behaviour. Why should you wash perform ablutions for a man made object when the guy who manufactured it probably handled your idol without washing his hands after a bowel movement? I can almost guarantee that if we had swabs taken from your quran, the lab would find feces residue from dozens of different people – some of whom may not even be muslim.

Muslim ablutions are a ritual – they don’t actually cleanse anything. At the mosque, the communal faucets and places where you perform the ablutions are themselves contaminated with human feces – just like any public place where people wash their hands.
When you turn the faucet on to splash water on your face, whatever feces and bacteria the guy who used it before you had on his hands gets onto your hands and then you splash it on your face. Any man made object is contaminated with fecal residue in this way. Even your holy book.
SO your 5X ablutions are not anti-bacterial washes – as they should be if your book was truly a divine object – they merely transfer bacteria and fecal matter from one person to the next. Trust me, take a swab from your quran and have a lab friend test it – it will be coated with fecal residue.

I can guarantee that just about everything you possess has some degree of fecal residue on it – there are studies demonstrating just that. Your quran is a man made object that is handled by human hands – it too will almost certainly have fecal matter on it from various sources, even, perhaps, from animals and bugs.
