  1. Ironically, Muslims rely upon the same logic when they ask, “where did Jesus ever say, I am God, worship me”

    • Lol Lassie! Always deflecting to Islam and Muslims eh?

It’s not even a matter of whether Jesus said to worship him. We know that Jesus worshiped God. Therefore, he cannot be God. Get it?

So Lassie, was the killing of Canaanite children right or wrong? 😉

    • Bashing? Slight hyperbole. I merely noted the parallel reasoning between your post here and an argument you have personally used. It shares the same fallacious basis- an argument from silence.

    • The prohibition on bestiality was well-known as being prohibited for the Jews. There is no reason to expect Jesus to repeat something well-known.

On the other hand if Jesus wanted people to know he was actually God, that is something he would have to state.

      Oh Lassie…you poor, poor man.

John 5:18 was referring to the Jews’ interpretation. Where did Jesus himself say that he was God or that he was equal to God?

In fact, further down, Jesus is quoted as saying:

“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself.”

How can “God” not do anything?

You are stuck in an endless loop of circular logic. Such is the folly of Christianity.

Didn’t take long for a Muslim to make my exact point for me. Since Jesus didn’t say anything about pedophile manchild relationships I guess you support them too?

Hey Lassie…Canaanite children? Killing them? Right or wrong? 😉

John 5 v 18 is giving the writer’s viewpoint, as well as the Jews, i.e. one who claims to be the Son of God makes himself equal to God.

Thus the scripture endorses the Jews and the correctness of their belief.

The Son can don nothing of himself does not refer to his power but to the union of his will with the Father.

In John 10 Jesus challenges the Jews to remove the charge of blasphemy by believing it’s opposite, i.e. that he is equal to God, NOT by believing that he is a mere man:

He challenged them to believe that he was God and not that he was usurping the place of God:

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

    • Lol, you guys are a joke!

John 10 refers to him being “son of God” which is used many times in the Tanakh to refer to righteous men. It does not carry any divine status.

The author’s interpretation is meaningless because he was obviously not “inspired” and given the importance of establishing Jesus’ alleged divinitt, you would think Jesus himself would have been a little more emphatic. Instead, all we get are garbled and ambiguous verses which Christians frantically try to interpret as making Jesus divine. It is surprising that even with the fake gospel of John, you guys cannot provide any definitive verse establishing his so-called divinity.

    • but he using a greek word which seem to be referring to ability

“not he was able to do….”

when people have no faith, jesus has not the power to perform any miracles, yet the jews says that yhwh at sainai was performing miracles even when people lacked faith.
      so we already see contrast

jesus clearly says that he does not have power to do miracles because…

      quote :

      Original Word: δύναμαι
      Part of Speech: Verb
      Transliteration: dunamai
      Phonetic Spelling: (doo’-nam-ahee)
Short Definition: I am powerful, am able
Definition: (a) I am powerful, have (the) power, (b) I am able, I can.

he is saying that he does not have the power to do….

why would he use the same greek word ? he does not have inward and outward ability.
      thanks madman .
