Neo-Atheist Moral Degeneration

Everyone wants to take the moral high ground, whether you’re an Atheist or a Theist. You want to demonstrate that your beliefs take you to a better moral position, therefore it should be followed. I can’t disagree with that reasoning, everyone wants to believe that they hold to the truth in some form or the other. What’s not okay, is what we see in the following photo –

abdullah sameer

This sort of behaviour is not okay. In the midst of a disagreement with the neo-atheist pictured in the conversation above, I decided to use our time with each other to benefit a sick person in need of urgent surgery. If our conversation wouldn’t result in anything meaningful, I thought to myself that perhaps the neo-atheist fellow wouldn’t mind helping a sick person. I was wrong.

There’s going to be a time to disagree, people will always insult each other but if anything, we should at the very least have the common decency to put our disagreements aside to benefit the needy in society. Alas, that was not the case here and I pray and sincerely hope that the young, antagonistic fellow can vent his frustration and anger elsewhere, such that he can benefit those in need eventually.

  1. [The bedouins say, “We have believed.” Say, “You have not [yet] believed; but say” [instead], ‘We have submitted,’ for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”] 49:14

Perhaps he was like those bedouins.

This is the first time I’ve heard of that guy. I googled him and read his backstory, which is sorta convincing… But then I watched his videos and his points they are just repeats of flawed points from other sites/atheists that are (and already have been) easily answered.

Then I read more about him again although he is active in Islamic activities, I see him as somewhat of the IT guy, rather than an actual student of knowledge. He was Ismaili, then he admits to blindly followed the Sunnah, he had no strong knowledge base, and when he started to think, without a base he slipped really really hard.

A bit of a sad sight to see. And now due to the state of social media’s algorithms, he’s in a really bad echo chamber as well.

I pray for Br. Ijaz… and other brothers and sisters in doing dawah online to be strong, have greater iman and perseverance in the struggle… And thank you all for your work.

    Assalamu’alaikum

  2. So let me get this straight… His main reason/trigger to not believe in the Quran was the story of Dhulkarnayn, and his videos consistently have arguments that the Quran copies other stories/books/myths/knowledge, yet he ignored the ACTUAL REASON (asbub al-nuzul) of why the story of Dhulkarnayn was sent down.

The asbub al-nuzul is that the verse of the story was sent down when some knowledgeable Jews asked Muhammad pbuh a random esoteric story AS A CHALLENGE. In which they wanted to disprove that Muhammad pbuh who was illiterate, only copied and retold old stories/books/myths/knowledge, and it was only after Muhammad pbuh admitted he didn’t know about the story, the verse was revealed, and thus disproving the Jews of 1400 years ago.

Yet here he is using the same 1400-year old argument. This irony is amusing.

  3. No one should insult anyone as a matter of principle, though through anger or… let’s call it ‘passion’, people can sometimes lash out. Plus, some people are just nasty, simply because they want to be. It seems that the person you were talking to fits into the latter category.
