The last person in the isnaad chain is the one who tells the names and then they get written down by hadith collectors. If that last person is reliable (which the hadith collector obviously first verifies) then that makes his isnaad reliability strong. Then it’s a case about whether there are memorization mistakes, etc.
The hadith science is the best way of having an idea of what the oral tradition was about. If you can come up with a better one then let us know.

Brother, I think i’ve probably found out where the confusion is coming from , you must first understand that a Hadith constitutes of “two parts”, first comes the “Isnaad”(Part A) then comes the “Matn”(Part B), so in order to authenticate the Part B we must analyze Part A first, so i don’t see how exactly it is circular…maybe you’re talking about the procedures that occurs after the authentication of the Chain of Narration, well that is necessary as well due to the fact that human error and mistakes may happen even though the Chain is strong, for example i heard there’s a Hadith with a Sahih Chain which says that creation took place in 7 days, so how do we know that the Narrator didn’t make any mistake? The Narrator is Human right? Mistakes can happen, so inorder to know whether there were mistakes, hadith experts will have to compare the “Matn” with the Quran and Authentic Hadiths then we will see that there was indeed a mistake about the days of Creation…the same could be said about Hadiths that talks about History, let us assume that there’s a Hadith which has a Strong Chain says that “9/11 never took place” or “Germany won the 2010 world cup”, then i guess we’ve got a major problem with the narrator…

I couldn’t continue because of how dishonest one must be to distort things at that level. But you do realize that the Prophet freed all of his “slaves”? Did you know that one of the shares of Zakat are literally “to free slaves” (Q 9:60)? Did you know that freeing slaves was an end goal in itself and the best deeds a Muslim can do and that ‘Umar freed all Arab slaves in the period of his Caliphate? Can we know talk about Christianity?

Heathcliff, exactly, there are legitimate reasons why hadith experts reject this history book i mean you can’t expect someone to accept anything blindly, on top of that i’m pretty sure christians apply this criterion themselves considering the amount of texts that were rejected….i remember reading a quote of our angry friend Robert Spencer saying that Ibn Ishaq is questionable in his opinion…it would be good to mention that Ibn Ishaq was skeptical sometimes about of his own book, infact he himself believed that some of his compilations were fabrications and he did write a book on this subject but apparently the book is lost, i would’ve been great to have it in our hands today….

You selectively quoted from Leviticus 25:44-46. Read it for comprehension. It says to not treat fellow Israelites harshly. Then it says that it is OK to treat slaves like a slave. Exodus 21 says you can beat a slave to death if the suffer a while before death because the slave is property.
Christian sources lie about Bible slavery because it is harsher than their minds can admit.

If the slave was an indentured servant, he would be walking out on his final payment. But Leviticus 25:46 would prevent the owner from being harsh with him.

I am curious about the vagueness of Exodus 21:21 saying “a day or two”. Since the Jewish day began at sundown, does the owner become free from additional punishment for the death of a slave when the sun goes down?
Jesus didn’t see anything wrong with beating slaves. Maybe he was against beating them in the face because you might knock out a tooth and have to set the slave free.
But Jesus sanctioned the beating of slaves which implies that he followed Leviticus 25:44-46, which allows a slave to be treated harshly as long as the slave was a Gentile.

There are slaves bought with money (usually foreigners), indentured servants (usually Hebrew males). and hired hands. Hired hands got paid at the end of the day. They could come and go when they wanted money. Indentured servants worked for six years and were to be paid generously at the end of their indenture. Also, if an indentured servant was given a slave wife, at the end of the indenture, the servant had to decide whether to leave his wife and any children with the owner or to become a permanent slave. The Bible spelled out exactly how to do this. There is nothing in there that says the owner had to advise the consequences of taking a slave wife to the indentured servant, only that he could do it and how to do it. The Bible tells slave masters how to exploit family values.

1. How we do know a Hadith is true? From the isnaad.
2. How do we know the isnaad is a reliable criterion? Because the ahadith tells us it is.

The last person in the isnaad chain is the one who tells the names and then they get written down by hadith collectors. If that last person is reliable (which the hadith collector obviously first verifies) then that makes his isnaad reliability strong. Then it’s a case about whether there are memorization mistakes, etc.
The hadith science is the best way of having an idea of what the oral tradition was about. If you can come up with a better one then let us know.

Brother, I think i’ve probably found out where the confusion is coming from , you must first understand that a Hadith constitutes of “two parts”, first comes the “Isnaad”(Part A) then comes the “Matn”(Part B), so in order to authenticate the Part B we must analyze Part A first, so i don’t see how exactly it is circular…maybe you’re talking about the procedures that occurs after the authentication of the Chain of Narration, well that is necessary as well due to the fact that human error and mistakes may happen even though the Chain is strong, for example i heard there’s a Hadith with a Sahih Chain which says that creation took place in 7 days, so how do we know that the Narrator didn’t make any mistake? The Narrator is Human right? Mistakes can happen, so inorder to know whether there were mistakes, hadith experts will have to compare the “Matn” with the Quran and Authentic Hadiths then we will see that there was indeed a mistake about the days of Creation…the same could be said about Hadiths that talks about History, let us assume that there’s a Hadith which has a Strong Chain says that “9/11 never took place” or “Germany won the 2010 world cup”, then i guess we’ve got a major problem with the narrator…

The second link is interesting because it shows the positive and negative attitudes of women to sex during menstruation. In this study, why more women expressed a negative attitude to sex, it had NOTHING to do with physical discomfort or pain. Here is what the author says about the negative feelings:
“Negative responses cohered around four themes: women’s discomfort and physical labor to clean ‘messes’, overt partner discomfort, negative self-perception and emotional labor to manage partner’s disgust.”
Those who had expressed positive feelings did so for two reasons:
“Positive responses cohered around two themes: physical and emotional pleasure from sex while menstruating, and rebellion against anti-menstrual attitudes. ”
