It is telling that Copan’s defense/whitewashing of biblical genocide appears, not in a peer reviewed academic journal, but some shoddy Christian, open-access website.
Brierly’s intentional usage of the word “apparently” opens the door for him to engage in a Christian biased reinterpretation of the OT in order to whitewash biblical genocide. Kudos to Paul W. for calling him out for using such a disingenuous tactic.
