    • Where was Allah for the Muslims? – I think a better question to ask is, “Where was the God given human decency, kindness and empathy in the Christians who engaged in and profited from the cruel institution of slavery and justified it by their own Bible?”

Many Muslim Africans were torn from their homeland, forced into Slavery, humiliated, dishonored, brought to the Americas where they were forced to convert to Christianity and yet still made to serve cruel Christian masters, who justified their abusive treatment by quoting Bible verses.

Where was Allah for the Muslims?

Alhamdullah, he was with them all the time:

“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.” Qur’an 2:155:157

Those who remain steadfast on the path of Islam, even in the worst and most dire circumstances will always find their reward with Almighty God Allah. Alhamdullah!

The memory of Islam was held in the hearts of many slaves, and thus the seed of Islam was planted in the Americas, and now that seed has blossomed into bloom, and we Muslims who live in Americas, and the West today, owe a great debt of gratitude to those Muslim slaves who suffered so much at the hands of their Christian masters, and yet, even if only in their hearts, “held tightly to the rope of Allah.”

“But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.” ~Qur;an 8:30

  2. There is no better action that Black American/Western Christians can take against the crimes and injustices of slavery than to free themselves once and for all from the mental shackles of Christianity, (the religion their ancestors were forced into), and return to the faith of their original forbears – Islam!

For any Black Christians or others who remain lost and “cut from their roots” due to the inherited tribulations of Slavery…..I call on you to rediscover Islam, the religion of your ancestors, come on home and return to your true faith family! – We Muslims will welcome you home with open arms! May Allah Guide you!!

    • When Paulus says that Prophet Muhammad (sws) owned a black slave what he fails to mention is the context which details the story of how the prophet purchased a black slave who was being tortured by his master, freed him and then gave him religious authority.

Christian criticisms of Islam on the issue of slavery are aimed at distracting from the embarrassing fact that slavery is letitimized, condoned, and defended in the both the OT/NT Bible.

In contrast to the Bible there is no text in the Qur’aan or Sunnah which enjoins taking others as slaves, whereas there are dozens of texts in the Qur’aan and the ahaadeeth of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) which call for manumitting slaves and freeing them.

Prophet Muhammad was one of the greatest abolitionists to ever live. He treated Africans as equals. He married Khadija, who was very wealthy and had more than 40 slaves. But Prophet Muhammad set them all free, saying racial discrimination had no place in society.

The sermon of the Holy Prophet on the occasion of his last pilgrimage declares: “All men are like brothers: the black has no superiority over the red, nor has an Arab any preferential claim on a non-Arab. All are sons of Adam and Adam was made out of clay.” This was in fact a charter of equality and freedom for the enslaved people of the world

    • I think the story of Ayuba Diallo a Gambian Muslim slave who was unapologetically, unwaveringly, and proudly Muslim speaks volumes on the subject of Islam and slavery. His commitment to Islam made the difference between living life as an unknown, forgotten slave in Maryland and a famous historical figure who died as a free man in his own home in Africa.

African Muslims like Ayuba Diallo would never have remained committed to Islam If it was truly a racist religion as some untruthful Christian apologist falsely portray.

You don’t even realize how dumb you sound right?
The Prophet (saw) had to deal with slavery because there was slavery which as common AT THE TIME! Now it’s not! So if we are to act to this as he did then this isn’t even applicable to us anymore.

According to the Bible Jesus was asked to visit a slave, in response, Jesus did not free the slave and instead called the slave OWNER the most Faithful in Israel; “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” [Luke 7:9]

    • Here is what some Christians in history have said about Slavery;

“The right of holding slaves is clearly established in the Holy Scriptures, both by precept and example.” [Rev. R. Furman, D.D., Baptist, of South Carolina]

“There is not one verse in the Bible inhibiting slavery, but many regulating it. It is not then, we conclude, immoral.” [Rev. Alexander Campbell]

“The extracts from Holy Writ unequivocally assert the right of property in slaves.” [Rev. E.D. Simms, professor, Randolph-Macon College]

“I draw my warrant from the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to hold the slave in bondage.” [Rev. Thomas Witherspoon, Presbyterian, of Alabama]

“In another area of human rights, many Christian clergymen advocated slavery. Historian Larry Hise notes in his book ‘Pro-Slavery’ that ministers ‘wrote almost half of all defenses of slavery published in America.’ He lists 275 men of the cloth who used the Bible to prove that white people were entitled to own black people as work animals.” [James A. Haught, ‘Holy Horrors’]

“The delegates of the annual conference are decidedly opposed to modern abolitionism, and wholly disclaim any right, wish, or intention to interfere in the civil and political relation between master and slave in the slave-holding states of the union.” [Methodist Episcopal Church, Statement of the General Conference, Cincinnati, May 1836]

“Montgomery, Alabama. A white Republican state senator running for Congress wrote a speech in which he argued that slavery is justified by the Bible and was good for African Americans. …’People who are bitter and hateful about slavery are obviously bitter and hateful against God and his word, because they reject what God says and embrace what mere humans say concerning slavery,’ Charles Davidson wrote.” [San Francisco Chronicle, 10 May 1996 (Associated Press)]

“My correspondent thinks with Mr. Jefferson, that Jehovah has no attributes that will harmonize with slavery; and that all men are born free and equal. Now, I say let him throw away his Bible as Mr. Jefferson did his and then they will be fit companions. But never disgrace the Bible by making Mr. Jefferson its expounder, nor Mr. Jefferson by deriving his sentiments from it. Mr. Jefferson did not bow to the authority of the Bible, and on this subject I do not bow to him.” [Rev. Thornton Stringfellow, D.D., in “Scriptural View of Slavery,” a work showing that the Bible sanctions slavery, from John E. Remsburg, “Six Historic Americans. Chapter 2: Thomas Jefferson”]

    • “In Islam, an enslaver is a Unrighteous person“

“And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].” Koran 4:3

“ but if you fear you will not be equitable towards them in terms of their expenses and individual share; then marry only one or restrict yourself to what your right hands own of slavegirls since these do not have the same rights as wives; thus by that marrying of only four or only one or resorting to slavegirls it is likelier it is nearer in outcome that you will not be unjust that you will not be inequitable.”- Tafsir al-Jalalayn

    • @ Paulus,
By your own logic – based on the above quotes from the Bible and Christian commentators….. we can conclude that Christianity is a fantasy religion as well. Good job, you just falsified your own religion.

Just proves a point I have made previously that when confronted with serious unresolvable problems in their own faith, the only response Christians can muster is to attack and attempt to drag other religions traditions (that don’t have the same problems) down in to the same level in the muck and mud where Christianity currently abides.

Fortunately for us, not all religions are created equal.

  6. It’s obvious that the hypocrite christian can color himself by any color he wants just to be an enemy against Allah and his message. A christian in the 21 century can take the rule of the atheist, the nationalist, the bigot one, and even the stupid one just to be against Islam.

Paulus’ comments are very good example of that. In fact, most christians in this blog including Ken, Richard, and Denis have this stain less or more. They have nothing real/true against Islam except that they don’t like the message because it contradicts their (own) ideas which are formed based on the western culture..
Notice that their culture contradicts their own bible in many things, but because the nature of christians is the hypocrisy, they just ignore the teachings of their bible or act like stupid people like what we see with Paulus.

    • In regard to Ken the Missionary and Paulus the opportunistic hater, I think that “Chameleon” is the word you’re looking for. But “hypocrite” works as well.

As far as I can remember, Richard usually doesn’t attack Islam, but his Christian apologetic arguments are so weak, confused, and ridiculous that it is hard to take him seriously

However, I am not sure that I would lump Dennis Giron in with the others. Although I often disagree with him, and I don’t like his line by line retort style, he generally engages in a more respectful way than the others, and seems to be more interested in articulating his Christian beliefs rather than single mindedly attacking Islam. Because of that, I have more respect for him than the others. Though I still reserve the right to disagree with him on occasion as I am sure he would with me, and that’s fine.
