  2. No views expressed so far on this particular topic seem satisfactory to me.

To have life in oneself is not a commuunicable attribute. God alone possesses this attribute.

The unitarian idea of agency fails wherever it is given as an explanation.

“Jesus said he could only do what the Father showed him and that the Father would show him more in the future.”

But I would see this as an argument in favour of his deity because it shows that the will of the Father and the Son are interlocked by nature.

The fact that the Father knows something that the Son doesn’t is something that we should expect to find in a triune God. It is not something that argues against the deity of the Son.

If Muslims disagree then the burden of proof is on them to show that this cannot be the case if God is trinitarian. Assumption is not proof.

    • A good example of the delusion trinitarians have sunk to:

‘The fact that the Father knows something that the Son doesn’t is something that we should expect to find in a triune God. It is not something that argues against the deity of the Son.’

DIY theology to defend the indefensible.

    • A God that doesn’t know something that the other God does while actually being the same God.
This has gotten really old and really tiresome to hear.

you are saying that god will bring into existence the day of judgement, but the son would not know what he, along with his father brought into existence. this makes no sense. it would mean your person in trinity is ignorant of his own creation. it is like i designed your brain and i don’t know what neurons are even though i designed them.

      this makes sense?

    • Its amazing how Trinitarians never seem to understand how deluded, irrational, and foolish they sound.

  3. Hello mate 😄

    My 2 Cents:

Or maybe the Son is simply a servant…

But a deity is supposed to be Omniscient am i right?

      Proof from scripture please ☺

    • Yes, I am sure all theoretical deities are omniscient. But if nobody knows how the self-knowledge of the triune God operates then the term omniscient is meaningless in that context.

Sure, so our 3 protagonists in the Triune Godhead is not so equal after all mate as only the Father possess Perfect Knowledge (or maybe the HS as well?) and not the Son…

l would have thought it was self-evident. Have you got any examples of other beings that have life in themselves?

  5. On the issue of John 1:3-4:

Also, I purchased Murray J. Harris’ Exegetical Guide to the Greek New Testament on John, and he actually gives cogent reasons for accepting the punctuation of John 1:3 that makes 1:4 begin with “in Him was life . . . ” – page 23. Too much to type out, maybe Google books will allow you to see it.

Also, the whole book of John supports this reading more:
Jesus is the true light – John 1:8-9
Jesus is the light of world – John 8:12
Jesus is the life and the resurrection – John 11:25; John 14:6
