Today commemorations are taking place in Germany to mark the 70th anniversary of the ‘bombing’ of Dresden. Over 25,000 people died in the British and American slaughter, which created a firestorm that left 33 sq km (12 sq miles) of the city in ruins. All the men women and children were burnt alive. No warning. No mercy. Roasted to death. But no one today in the British media (to my knowledge) has questioned this terrible war crime against the people of Dresden – which reminds us that we ‘civilised people’ in Europe are just as capable of burning people to death when we feel we must do so.
How are we better than Islamic State?
