It is to our shame as Europeans that having destabilized entire regions by bombing the hell out of the them in Iraq and Afghanistan, and causing a bloody civil war by supporting the unsuccessful military overthrow of Asad in Syria, we now wash our hands of the human catastrophe we have caused.
