Britain First are a far-right Christian political party who say they want Islam to be banned and would hang their enemies if in power. They say they are staunchly Christian and want Britain run according to ‘Christian values’. In the film a leader of BF says chillingly if you “don’t respect” this, they would “hang you for treason” (see from 14:35). The group have more followers on Facebook than any other political party in the UK and have just announced their leader is running for Mayor of London. The BBC sends out one of their reporters to find out who they are and meets them at one of their protests in Rotherham.
This screenshot from Britain First Facebook sums up their Christian worldview, chillingly similar to that of extremist hate preacher Sam Shamoun. The problem is when you appeal to the Bible then you can use it to justify just about any model of behaviour (including the slaughter of babies – see 1 Samuel 15). The Bible is a library of books written by mostly unknown people over a thousand years, with many different even contradictory views. It’s happy hunting ground for extremists and bigots.

Yet Jesus says the 2 most important commandments are to love God and to love your neighbour as yourself, and to treat others as you’d want them to treat you because these things sum up the entirety of the Law (Torah) and prophets (i.e all of the Hebrew Bible can be summed up by those 3 commandments).
I agree with the popularity part as none of the prophets were particularly popular, and Jesus would also tell his followers to refrain from trying to be popular but to follow the bible would be to be a nice and positive person. What can I say about this group and others like them claiming to be Christian? “Not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven… Then I will tell them plainly ‘I never knew you, away from me you evil doers.”
