How Islamic Is ISIS, Really?

For Jonathan Brown fans (that includes me) Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson discusses the history of Islam with Asma Afsaruddin, a professor in Indiana University’s Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, and Jonathan Brown, director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University.

I can’t seem to upload it – but you can listen to it here, it’s very good:

  1. Assalamu aleikum Paul, where can I find the book which you wrote on Christianity? I remember it was posted somewhere in your blog but cannot find it now.

  2. I am also a fan of Dr. Jonathan AC Brown 🙂

I have some of his scholarly works on the hadiths in my collections:  Misquoting Muhammad: The Challenges and Choices of Interpreting the Prophet’s Legacy and The Canonization of al-Bukhari and Muslim., I’d say I am really impressed with his comprehensive treatment of that very complex topic. He is equally masterful in both western and Islamic/Arabic scholarly resources.

    Thanks for sharing this.
