  1. It was narrated from Thaabit ibn al-Dahhaak (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills himself with something in this world will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5700; Muslim, 110.

  2. The great scholar Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: What is the ruling on one who blows himself up in order to kill a number of Jews thereby?

    He replied:

What I think, and I have pointed out on more than one occasion, is that this is not acceptable, because it is killing oneself, and Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And do not kill yourselves” [an-Nisa’ 4:29]. And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills himself with something will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5700; Muslim, 110. When there is a legitimate jihad, then he may strive in jihad with the Muslims, and if he is killed, then praise be to Allah. But to kill himself by attaching explosives to himself, so that he is killed with them, this is wrong and is not permissible.

  3. The same great scholar who says kill non Muslims (verse of the sword abrogated all the peaceful verses) are you talking about that scholar? I think that FATwwa is available on Answering Islam, you can look it up!

  4. Too lazy to look it up!

This verse is known as Ayat al-Sayf (the verse of the sword). These and similar verses ABROGATE the verses which say that there is no compulsion to … Majmoo’ Fataawa wa Maqaalaat li’l-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 6/219 ( http://www.islam-qa.com ).source:www.answering-islam.org/Shamoun/badawi_tolerance.htm

  9. Your confusing the issue and topic of discussion here Kevin…we are discussing Islam’s stance on suicide bombing that clearly confirms it’s a sin…your reference to other Quranic verses or fatwas have nothing to do with suicide, which is what we are discussing!

Paul did you the Figs in Albanian are absolutely delicious?

THE SAME GREAT SCHOLAR, , if you agree with him on this FATWWa and you must agree with him on this issue too. Killing khafir by enforcing your religion. otherwise, you cannot use his Fatwwa concerning suicide either.

Paul, what do you believe Islamic scholars and leaders need to do to combat extremism from within?

    I say;
What do you want again? Islamic scholars, leaders, organizations, mosques and ordinary Muslims from all walk of life continue to come out publicly and distance themselves from any extremist or killer.

Some Mosques, Muslim families have reported their members they think is suspicious to authorities. Some Muslim communities and Mosques and their leaders are working with law enforcement agencies to train their youths in education, trade and preaching against radicalization the whole world over.

The Nigerian Muslim father of the underwear bomber reported his son to law enforcement agencies and so as many others.

You may not be seeing it in the main stream media but ask your top local law enforcement agencies and they may tell you.

NOW THE PROBLEM IS NOT FOR MUSLIMS ALONE

How will the evangelical Christians of the USA stop voting for brutal republican candidates to go to war on Muslim countries to kill Muslims and create vacuum for isis and other terrorist is the best thing to stop terrorism than what Muslims are doing to stop it.

-Ted Cruz a US presidential candidate said he is not going to be neutral between the Palestinians and Israel but will allow Israel to continue their settlement on Palestinian lands and kill them if they wish. This type of wicked policy for the Palestinians to be killed radicalizes some people and not only Muslims but other people as well.

    Thanks.

    • I agree there are external factors that drive extremism, as much as there are internal ones. The trouble is that a lot of it is a Catch 22 situation. Violence begets violence and from the other side of the coin it’s easy to pass most of the blame onto the ‘other side’.

Take our language here. I’m talking about what Muslims can do to stop Muslims and you’re talking about Evangelical Christians voting to kill Muslims. We have already polarised our language.

The other problem is that ISIS doesn’t merely exist in a vacuum. The harshest interpretations of religious texts and beliefs will give rise to people prepared to kill in the name of those beliefs, regardless of external factors and justifications (and this problem affects pretty much every religion). In countries where religious beliefs are allowed to influence law, suffering often follows (Uganda follows Biblical principles whilst the Taleban followed Islamic beliefs – would any of us want to live under either regime?)

It’s a spiral of justification for violence. One that is unfortunately very hard to stop once it starts.
