Hi Paul, since in John 20:17, (as in numerous other verses), Jesus calls God His Father, do you also accept this statement, even if it contradicts the Qu’ran? In context the word “God” here in 20:17 is referring to the Father, whereas John is focusing on the human aspect of Jesus’ identity. Jesus calling God “My Father” was a proclamation of His equality with God. The Jews knew this and wanted him dead. I would suggest the real problem in John 20:17 is Islam’s statement that God could not enter into human form. Islam lacks the understanding of how Jesus can be fully God and fully man. Besides you have previously stated that the words of Jesus are not found in John’s gospel, so why are you seeking to use them to “prove” that Jesus is not God. Or have you now changed your mind on this issue?

so many issues! I’ll deal with just 1. You choose.
Btw in my experience Baptist ministers tend to be inerrantists when it comes to the Bible. Do you subscribe to inerrancy?
