You mean the Arabic as in the actual language the text was originally written in but later translated to English? Translations aren’t always perfect dude and sometimes do require a bit of an explanation if it is not entirely accurate.
Theres nothing goofy about that and yes the meaning of words do change over time take the word gentleman for example which before had a more specific meaning and is now a term for praising ones actions.
You do realise Dr Ben Witherington, somebody with more clout than Dr James ‘Debate me’ White says the English “Bibles” cannot be called Bibles. The Bible can only be in Greek. Those books such as KJV, NIV, RSV etc are just translations of the Bible.
