The church has for centuries, since post-biblical times, defined God as 3 Persons. Jesus defined God as 1 Person, the Father: John 17.3

John 17:3:

And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

  1. John 17:5
5 Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

    John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Isaiah 42:8 “I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images.

Isaiah 48:11 “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another.

Since John 17:5 and John 1:1-5 show Jesus the Son shared in the glory with God from eternity past and was God by substance/nature and eternal with the Father; and Isaiah 42:8 and 48:11 speak of God / Yahweh / the LORD not giving His glory to another; it means what the Son and the Father (and the H.S) are one God and the three persons are within the One God, who does not share His glory with another “god”.

  2. a lot of speculative ifs and buts there Ken.

In John 17:3 Jesus refers to another (“you”) as “the only true God”.

If Jesus knew he was God he would have said “we”.

In John 10 Jesus refutes the ‘evil Jews’ (more anti-semitism) who accuse him of making himself out to be God. He rejects their “blasphemy” (verse 36) and says he is not God but his son.

  4. There is no anti-Semitism in the bible, “the Jews” meant the Jews that were persecuting Jesus, the Pharisees, chief priests, scribes, Saducees, Jewish leaders who were rejecting Him and were trying to kill him.

But the Qur’an is anti-semitic, calling the Jews apes (Surah 2:65), and Hadith is anti-semitic, saying that Jihad and killing them must continue all the time until the day of resurrection and that trees must cry out “there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him”, etc.

you pathetic christian. if yhwh can apply the death penalty on infants and unborn who did no sin and hitler can use jesus’ words when he says

      hitler :

‘existence impels the jew to lie, and to lie perpetually just as it compels the inhabitants of the northern countries to WEAR WARM CLOTHING.’

jesus : you are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your fathers desires…. when he lies , he speaks according to his OWN NATURE for he is a liar and the father of lies

now what inspired hitler to say those words?

just remove “hitler” and “jesus” and would would assume that the words are coming from the same PERSON

both are saying it is part of their nature to lie

the guilt for crucifying jesus could be continued and applied to jews from different locations . acts 2:36

  5. Um, silly Ken, let’s actually read 2:65 shall we? Then we’ll see what an idiot you are.

“And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them: “Be ye apes, despised and rejected.””

So, it is referring to some Jews who violated the Sabbath law and who were transformed into apes, not all the Jews.

You have also been refuted elsewhere already about the hadith of the Gharqad tree. Only a lying scoundrel like you would keep repeating the same nonsense ad nauseum. It shows how desperate you are. But who can blame? You follow a false religion that is built on lies! 🙂

  6. Difference of opinion is not lying.

Why can’t you just say what the Qur’an says in Surah 109:6 ?

“to you is your religion and to me is my religion”

Why resort to ad hominem and calling names?

    • Oh, so now you want to play nice, huh? Tell me, who was going around misquoting the Quran and alleging that it is “anti-Semitic”? It is not a “difference of opinion”. It is a clear case of deliberately misquoting the Quran.

And there was nothing in my post that was an “ad hominem”. I refuted your nonsense and then referred to you as a lying scoundrel. If had done only the latter, then it would have been an ad hominem. 😉

    • You called me an idiot in another post, and used the word “hypocritical”, etc. This is wrong method and violation of Surah 109:6 and Surah 29:46.

I am not lying, just defending the Bible and the doctrine of the Trinity.

It was Paul Williams who threw in the charge of anti-semitism in John 10 first, which is not true.

    • So because brother Paul made an alleged “false” claim about the Bible, you reciprocate by making a stupid claim about the Quran? Oh, that makes sense!

This isn’t the first time you have made false claims about the Quran or Islam. Don’t pretend like you are just an innocent victim of Muslim bullying.

  7. And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, “We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.”

  8. Christians will not accept the concept of the trinity, the triune God negates the concept of the One True God, Yahweh in the OT and Allah in the Quran. It violates the First Commandment.
