In Arabic the words used for heart like ‘qalb’ or ‘fuad’ can also refer to the mind.

Good point. And Allah judges our actions by the (mind or heart’s) intentions behind them.
This is why an action like praying in public is not a sin if the intentions are good and pure, with sole aim being to please Allah.
