mon·o·the·ism
ˈmänōˌTHēizəm/
noun
- the doctrine or belief that there is only one God.
Have we ever thought what is the essence of monotheism which was originally revealed by God? and in what way this radically altered the pagan understanding of God when it was first revealed?
The pagans understand amazing qualities in their finite perception as being divine. When they saw a Mountain that was splendour and mighty they would allow themselves to worship in devotion to that Mountain.
When the pagans saw a charismatic person which possessed spiritual qualities they would see this evidence to the divinity of this person.
God taught the prophets He had sent the fact that a created being or things whom anybody can spiritually and physically grasp no matter how magnificent does not make that entity divine.
Divinity only belongs to the One Creator of all finite existence. Any quality that a finite entity possesses, no matter how amazing, can only be a subordinate from the One who created us all.
When we read in the Bible from the Tanakh to the Gospels bearing in mind this definition there is no way we will allow ourselves to understand the astounding miracles and superior spirituality of Jesus (p) or any other God’s agent like the Metatron, as a proof of divine manifestation into finite beings and thus let ourselves fell into idolatrous mentality God vehemently hates.
The entire thrust of God teaching about monotheism is that do not be fooled by any amazing qualities in any finite being. And that we should recognise that all finite beings are equally subject to the One Creator of all existence.
وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا
Worship God and associate nothing with Him
