Islam’s finest have debated Christianity’s finest

I like the fact that the “Shaykh” has debated “preeminent scholars” like Jay Smith & White. Yes, these top scholars are worthy of the Shaykh’s many talents.

  1. Whoever wrote it clearly was not Brother Adnan Rashid and nor does it appear he/she was a native speaker of English.

  2. ‘Shaykh’?

    That’s a new one on me, perhaps he got it from from the same place where James White got his ThD :p

    Or maybe it was an parallel universe where Adnan is a Shaykh, Nabeel was a Muslim, and Bobby isn’t a blithering idiot

  4. However my main criticism of this poster Paul is that the image itself has an atrocious resolution on it. It conflicts the text. The text is in different colors for God only knows what reason.

    And i am also offended that the picture that was chosen is so drab and uninteresting that I practically fell asleep. But the worst part of this is that Adnan Rashid was doing the talk. These discussions should not be left to for a lack of a better term lay people. The dialogue between Muslims and Christians is one that deserves the attention of scholars to lead the way.

  5. The prophecies of Muhammad (yawn) in the Bible…

    How some Muslims continue to peddle this nonsense defies logic. But, oh well.

  6. If you are sincere and not rebellious against truth you would see Prophet Muhammad prophesied in the Bible even by name.

    You said;

    I say;
    The Quran never said Prophet Mohammed was prophesied in the Bible but said Prophet Mohammed was mentioned in the scriptures of the people of the book. As we know the people of the Book themselves have different books they believe and do not believe in others.

    Church Fathers have to canonize some and others were rejected and we continue to discover others that did not find their way in to the Bible.

    So, during our prophets time people of the book saw him in their scriptures and some converted to Islam because of that.

    Thanks.

    I’m sorry Mark are we keeping you awake? I am also very confused as to why you put yawn in brackets!
    Is it a silent yawn? An inherent yawn? Why does that yawn Mark not deserve to be included in the sentence proper? I believe this is the question many of us are asking (not really)

    “How some Muslims continue to peddle this nonsense defies logic. But, oh well.”

    It doesn’t really defy logic though does it Mark. Its actually rather straight forward and reasonable, you see old chap Muslims believe that Muhammad is the final Prophet and that his arrival had been announced previously by other Prophets and that these are contained in earlier revelations of God. This is the stinker though Mark. So pay very close attention.

    Eventhough there are parts of the Tanakh and New Testament that are the later traditions of the people of those days, there are nevertheless parts of these that do indeed contain the original teachings of the Prophets and in some of these statements, Muslims argue, there are predictions of another Prophet to arrive and that these prophecies can only be reasonably fulfilled by Muhammad.

    You may disagree Mark but this is hardly illogical as the Qur’an does state that Muhammad is mentioned in the books of the Jews and Christians

    No you know how Religious Jews feel when Christians throughout the centuries have attempted to use the Tanakh to prove that Jesus is both God and the Messiah of Israel.

  10. Mark, if you’re a Christians and believe in the ‘prophecies’ in Matthew such as Hosea 1 then you would have to admit the case for Prophet Muhammad p is a lot stronger than than the ‘prophecies’ the evangelical community latch on to in the OT and proclaim them to be about Jesus p

    Consistency…

    Think about it deeper

  11. Mohammad was trained by an Arian monk (Bahira), that is why so much of the Marian texts in the Koran are the same as the gnostic gospels, not to mention everything else that was copied from Judaism and Christianity, 700 years after the fact. Islam is a Christian heresy–America has Mormons, the Middle East has Islam. Ibn Hisham, Ibn Sa’d al-Baghdadi, and Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari all point it out for you…Islam came direct from the gnostic gospels, so you have some truth, albeit twisted and clouded to varying degrees.

  12. It is obvious this good monk Bahira had foretold to the adolescent Muhammad his future prophetic career accurately… so most likely his understanding of Christianity was the genuine and correct form of which Jesus had directly taught and been revealed to him from God. While the rest seems to have went ashtray following a tri-theism graeco-roman version of christianity.
