Though Pope John Paul II criticised the Islamic understanding of God for its rejection of Christian teaching on God, he had high praise for Muslims,
“… The religiosity of Muslims deserves respect. It is impossible not to admire, for example, their fidelity to prayer. The image of believers in Allah who, without caring about time or place, fall to their knees and immerse themselves in prayer remains a model for all those who invoke the True God, in particular for those Christians who, having deserted their magnificent cathedrals, pray only a little or not at all.” – Pope John Paul II
from Crossing the Threshold of Hope
Today many Christians seem unable to show any respect towards Muslims preferring instead to indulge in hate, lies and gross misrepresentation.

I think Catholics are more balanced, humble and less hateful than their protestant brothers…just based on my experiences with some Catholics.

I completely agree. Unlike many evangelicals they are not usually fanatics and bigots.
