It is just like Hamza Yusuf writing a book called “the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem”. I will not buy such a book because Hamza Yusuf is not a scholar of NT and no Muslim will buy such a book and Hamza Yusuf with not write such a book even though he was from a Christians background but not a scholar of Christianity.
I will only buy a book about Jesus in Bethlehem from Muslims like Dr. Jerald Dirks, Lawrence Brown, Ingrid Matson, etc. and may be the late Idris Taufiq who is a former ordained Catholic priest and so many who I sincerely know they know their stuff in Christianity.
I will not buy a book on say “Jesus in Bethlehem” by Khalid Yasin, Yusuf Estes, etc. even though they came from Christian background and have some Christian knowledge and teachings. They are not Christian scholars. I will listen to them and pick one or two points about Christianity from their former background but not to buy a wholesale book about Christianity from them.
It will not be justice for people like Raymond Brown, Bart Erhman, Richard Bauckham, Bruce Metzger etc. and a host of others who have spent years researching in to Christianity to spent time on a book on Christianity by say Khalid Yasin because he claim to be from a Christian background.
Similarly it is absurd to read a from Sam Shamoun, Wood, Spencer, Ergun Carner, Walid, Nabeel Quraish, Aayan Ali Hirsi, Irshad Manji etc. all of who do not have certificate in Islamic studies and many hardly speaks Arabic.
To be sincere, Paul Williams has been listing a lot of books by Christian academics for us to read and that is fair. Paul Williams never asked us to read a book on NT by Yusuf Estes because Yusuf was a former Christian preacher.
All the books on Christianity Paul Williams listed and keep to list are from recognized Christian academic researcher but not stupid Nabeel Quraish or David Wood who do not know Arabic

Perhaps with whatever interest this might be for Evangelicals to learn more about what Jihad actually is rather than watching FOX, could serve as a positive opportunity for those giving Dawah to provide a better explanation and also recommend better works on this subject?

I say;
Many Muslims scholars have come out and written books on Jihad and spoke and continue to speak about Jihad and kept calling Christians into Mosques and visiting Christians in Churches and explaining Jihad to them but FOX and CNN will not broadcast all these activities.
Aayan Ali and Irshad Manji, just like Nabeel Quraish will quickly get a publisher and may even be approached by a publisher to convince them to write books against Islam and so will get audience at FOX, CNN etc. advertising their books against Islam forgetting these lesbians are not Islamic scholars.
We have other females following their foot steps and I can’t remember their names but they will appear on FOX claiming to be ex-Muslims and they want to masturbate themselves and forgetting Christianity is also against masturbating.
