  1. From my understanding, Calvinists would disagree with Bannister as they believe God elected the saved people prior to creation thus God chose not to love the majority of people.

  2. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. Romans 9:13

  3. Yes , redeeming love is only for the elect as Romans 9 says.

    However God has compassion on all he has made regardless of what they believe:

    Psalm 145 v

    8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

    9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

    15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

    16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

    We don’t see anything like this in the Koran.

    • “We don’t see anything like this in the Koran.’

      Correction – YOU do not see anything like that because you have not read the Quran from cover to cover.

  4. Madmanna does not seem very familiar with the Tanakh portion of the Bible, so it is not surprising at all that he is not familiar with the Quran.

    Here is another Psalm that he has overlooked (Psalm 11:5-7):

    The Lord examines the righteous,
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.
    On the wicked he will rain
    fiery coals and burning sulfur;
    a scorching wind will be their lot.
    For the Lord is righteous,
    he loves justice;
    the upright will see his face.

  5. Where are the Quranic equivalents portraying the all inclusive compassion of Allah over all men regardless of what belief system they hold?

  6. “The Lord examines the righteous,
    but the wicked, those who love violence,”

    Reading the news I could be mistaken for believing that most of those who prove by their actions that they love violence are Muslims. Seeing is believing is it not?

    Are they contradicting any verses of the Koran?

  7. But the Bible does not ‘portray the all inclusive compassion of God over all men regardless of what belief system they hold’

    The Bible clearly states he hates some types of people.

    No PC compassion there. You are worshiping a deity of your own imagination madman.

  8. Madmanna, changing the subject is typical of Christian apologists. In any case, you are quite mistaken. Some Muslims do commit violence, but so do Jews, Christians, Hindus, Atheists etc.

    And yes, those Muslims who commit acts of violence against innocent people are violating the Quran and Sunnah. The Quran allows fighting against one’s oppressors, and not against innocent people:

    2:190 – Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

    It also commands Muslims to make peace with their enemies when an offer is made:

    8:61 – But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things).

    Now back to the topic at hand…do you agree that the Bible explicitly states God does not love all people?
