  2. That is not his fault, this main stream media giving air time to the fake ex Muslims like Aayan Ali Hirsi, Irshad Manji etc. and Ken Temple advertising Nabeels book. They like Islamic knowledge from those that they did not know their background Islamic knowledge but will not give air time to ex Christians like Yvonne Ridley of Taliban and Lauren Booth of Tony Blair to tell them about Islam or Christianity.

    Thanks.

  3. You have to be a formal scholar to understand Islam?

  4. Just like CBN inviting Yvonne Ridley of Taliban and Lauren Booth of Tony Blair to lecture about violent statements in NT because they are ex-Christians and now Muslims.

    Most Christians like Ken Temple will say they were not Christians but is willing to accept Nabeel Quraish, a Qadiani, who did not know Islam, until was taught by David Wood who also has no Arabic and classical Arabic and no knowledge of Islam but lies.

    Thanks.

    I don’t really buy the argument that the tenets of the faith have to be read in Arabic in order to be truly understood – that would apostatize the vast majority of Muslims.

    It is like Christians going to sermon and have pastors who have learnt Christianity very well and some knows Greek to translate the Bible well for them. When a radio station, TV station etc. especially the main stream media wants Christian understandings it invites pastors upon pastors. They will not invite Yvonne Ridley of Taliban or Lauren Booth of Tony Blair to tell them what NT is about because they are ex-Christians.

    They will not even accept them as ex-Christians. What they do to Muslims is that we have good Muslim scholars like Imam John Edere, who knows Arabic, Classical Arabic and has memorised the Quran and some hadith and teaching some Arabs Arabic.

    He is white, we have Hamza Yusuf, Okasha Kameny, and a lot of well educated Muslims who know Arabic, Quran and hadith all over the world who are saying Islam no where teaches terrorising people but it has to defend itself against aggressors.

    The main stream western media will ignore them and keep inviting Irshad Manji, Nabeel Quraish, Aayan Ali Hirsi who have no knowledge in the Quran, hadith, Arabic and Islam itself to tell them what Islam is. That is the problem.

    Majority of Muslims send their children to learn Arabic and Islam and it will surprise you to know that majority of Muslims really knew their religion.

    To know Islam from non Muslim one can go to Dr. John Esposito of the George town university, Lesley Hazelton, Karyn Armstrong etc. What they say is opposite from Nabeel and co.

    These scholars have spend years researching on Islam.

    Muslims, we know our religion. A Muslim community of every 200 people all around the world will have at least 2 or 3 people who knows Arabic, Quran, hadith and all Islamic knowledge to teach them to also become experts. These started from the time of our prophet and continue today.

    Muslims are literate in their religion. Nabeel said he was not literate until David Wood taught him Islam. We want the experts to speak on a subject not an ex-Muslim or ex-Christian who know nothing except lies.

    Thanks.

    I think that Qureshi has spent years studying Islam also – what you and Paul are saying actually plays into the hands of radicalisers. If you need an “expert” to tell you how to understand Islam, then you and your kids are vulnerable to those who have had formal training, speak Arabic and who think that Islam is meant to be violent.

  8. John, you have it backwards. People are vulnerable when non-experts parade as experts and spread false information. Formal training does not just include knowing Arabic. It is much more than that. But knowing Arabic would be the bare minimum.

    I disagree – people are vulnerable when they are told that it requires formal training to truly understand their faith. Why do Muslims require an expert to tell them what their scriptures say? Don’t the scriptures speak for themselves?

  10. John,

    The scriptures can be misunderstood by the ignorant if they don’t know the context of their revelation. A classic example is surah 9:5, the “sword” verse. Anyone who has no idea for what occasion it was revealed could easily misinterpret it as a command to fight all unbelievers for all time. Indeed, non-Muslims like Qureshi and fanatics like Bin Laden do read the verse that way. The only ones who don’t are the scholars of Islam and learned Muslims.

    I say;
    Why do we have Pastors? Sheiks, Masters of Divinity?, Bishop?, Mufti? Specialists in classical Arabic, fiq, Gramma etc.

    They just spent years learning their required knowledge for nothing? according to you? Pathetic for the above to spend years learning their respective knowledge for Nabeel Quraish to learn Islam from David Wood who do not know Arabic to become expert.

    You said;

    I say;
    What is your proof that Nabeel has spent years studying Islam? Dr. John L. Esposito is a Christian and has degrees in Islamic studies and knows classical Arabic and is a big proof and has authority to interpret the Quran. His interpretations is opposite to Nabeel Quraish interpretations.

    Imam John Yahya Ederer has memorized the Quran and is a white guy who knew the Arabic to the extent of teaching some Arabs Arabic. Imam Suhaib Webb, Imam Joe Bradford, Okasha Kameny etc. and millions of people have gone through rigorous education to learn Islam.

    Nabeel or Aayan Ali and co. have no proof of doing that so they cannot interpret the Quran or hadith.

    John, in Islam you require a good grasp of classical Arabic before you can interpret the Quran or hadith which Nabeel Quraish and co. have not got. I mean it and it is a fact.

    Knowing our Islamic religion is different from interpreting the verses and stressing it is true like what Nabeel Quraish is doing. He has no authority to do that because he does not have the requisite education on Islam to do that. Prove to us his qualification on Islam if you feel he is qualified to do that.

    Or show us a video of Nabeel speaking classical Quranic Arabic with Authority like this guy-Imam John Yahya Ederer. If you have this proof or any then I will accept your argument.

    Nabeel Quraish is just like Sam Shamoun, Robert Spencer, David Wood etc. who uses English translations which are not perfect or use someone’s translations of Arabic words to English without knowing the Arabic words themselves. A scholar who interprets a scripture must have a command of the scriptural language to really know what he is interpreting.

    NABEEL QURAISH AND CO HAVE NOT STUDIED ISLAM FOR YEARS AND HAVE NO PROVE OF CLASSICAL ARABIC WHICH IS A STARTING POINT AND MANY OTHER TO FOLLOW. Our Muslim Imams and scholars have undergone all this.

    Thanks
