  1. Great article. Nabeel Qureshi should be exposed for the fraud that he is. It’s shows the desperation of the evangelicals that they have to resort to misrepresentations and outright lies concerning Islam. That’s because they don’t really have any arguments with substance.
Keep up with the good work Paul.

  2. Nabeel is a bit of an enigma to me since he is clearly an intelligent person, however at the same time he is quick to be unbalanced in his criticisms of Islamic scripture, history, and Prophet tradition while being deeply uncritical about his adopted faith. Such as recently on his Twitter page stating that the Gospel of Mark being written in the 40s despite the scholarly consensus stating otherwise.

My other issue with Nabeel is concerns his belief in the need to dismiss the entirety of the Islamic interpretive tradition when it comes to understanding the Qur’an, Hadith, and Seerah despite the fact that they ARE a part of the interpretive tradition. Take the Hadith collections for example, Imam Bukhari based his selection on a criteria which was put into place due to the sheer size of traditions he had collected (presumably not all were kosher), an example comes to my mind of the hadith in Sunan Abu Dawud where the day of judgement would arrive in the life time of a 14 year old whereas Bukhari states that ‘the one who asks known as much as the answerer’. For Nabeel to say only Qur’an, Hadith, and Seerah should be read and at face value as well shows to a complete lack of understanding of those sources.

Never mind his dramatic shift in how he interprets Islam as a whole in light of his testimony as a Muslim who believed Islam was peaceful whereas now he says these sources as inherently violent? It is well known that Ahmadis are non violent. Does this mean he was never truly a Muslim since he was not following the true ‘violent’ teachings of Islam? Nabeel could have been so much more especially with his debate against Shabir Ally but that seems a whole different time now 😦
