Jay Smith to leave Pfander Ministries and go home.

Americans have a reputation for being loud-mouthed and aggressive. There are many Americans who are not like this of course, but American missionary Jay Smith fits the caricature to a T. After many years of lying about the Prophet Muhammad and slandering Muslims he is leaving our country (England) to return home to his native land. As far as I can tell his mission to convert Muslims to his brand of extreme Christianity has totally failed. I know of not a single convert to his religion. In any other walk of life such a failure to produce any results would be a cause of acute embarrassment and professional shame.

Jay Smith is to be succeeded by Beth Grove a woman who has a track record of hostile and bigoted rantings against Islam. She was recently denounced on camera by a fellow Christian who witnessed her “appalling” behaviour (see video). Not only did she push a Muslim speaker, she bizarrely assumed a Muslim was not from this country just because he is black! The man has an English accent! Beth will have much work to do if she wishes to gain the respect of Muslims.

I know from discussions with her that her knowledge of the Bible and Christian theology is very slight. She tends not to listen to what people are saying to her (everyone has commented on this) and has an unfortunate tendency to laugh hysterically as we can see in this video.

All in all a worthy successor to Jay Smith.

  1. I have to say that I don’t think Jay Smith is a good representative for the Christian faith. In his discussions with muslims, he would always throws the OT under the bus and be almost NT only. The OT was the only Bible that Jesus, Mary, Paul, and the apostles had and he carelessly tosses it out. Becoming more familiar with the OT has strengthened my faith. The two testaments go together and Mr. Smith should know better and accept the OT fully. BTW, although I’m no fan of James White, he has criticized Smith for this as well. On the other hand, it is apparent that Mr. Smith is well studied in Islamic sources. Does he do interpret them correctly? I’ll let the muslims decide that one.

  2. Good points Allan. As is often the case Catholic Christians are more balanced – and dare I say sane – than their fundamentalist evangelical colleagues.

  3. I disagree. Smith is not well studied in Islamic sources. What he’s done over the years was selectively taking a few Islamic text and history from a secondary sources and deliberately ripped its context to make it look bad in order to sell his religion. That’s what he does for a living.

Also He has no qualifications in Islamic studies nor knows any Arabic. As such he has zero credibility.

  7. Allan,

Smith uses old Orientalist material and specially so when it comes to strange theories about the origins and historicity of Islam. I think this video is indicative of his approach

  8. Why do Muslims have such blind eye to any argument? I have yet to see Muslim Scholar stand against Jay Smith. He is bravely showing Satan at work. They forget that many will come with false religion. The so called Christian Church now accepts many false beliefs I.e separation from God; pretribulation rapture; everyone now goes to Heaven at death, just to name a few. Early Christian Fathers did not teach these things. They forget that many wolves come in sheep’s clothing. They believe what other men/women say with out checking the scriptures to see if it is correct. It is just the way of the World and they know no different.

  9. Excellent tpdh. About time people got a way from inaccurate modern teaching that is not supported by original scripture.
