According to Paul in the New Testament there is a fixed divine hierarchy. In order:

God – Jesus – Man – Woman.

The modern ideology of gender egalitarianism which most in the Christian church passively accept is contrary to the explicit teaching of the Bible. Christ submits to God; wives are to submit to their husbands. I actually don’t know any Christians who believe this!
