well, if ever you needed it; proof that religion can be hi-jacked by utter charlatans, but note also the cultural setting. There is nothing remotely Christian about this; I take it people realise that.

I agree with you that this Minister is an utter charlatan. However, II think that this has everything to do with Christianity.
I work with a Nigerian Christian, who believes in this expression of Christian faith, he speaks in tongues and believes in faith healing, and casting out demons. I am sure he would take offense to your highly questionable remark about the “cultural setting,” and that he would argue that these are practices and beliefs which are condoned and taught in the very same Bible that you read from. whether you agree with his belief and interpretation or not, I don’t think you can say there is “nothing remotely Christian” about casting out demons and speaking in tounges all the while shouting the name of “Jesus” and “Bathing in the Blood.”
What is amazing to me is not how many naïve and gullible people there are in the world who are more than willing to buy into this kind of charlatanry, but that the vast majority of them seem to be Christians.

I like your comments. The same is happening in the rich countries too. Joel Olsteen, Creflo Dollar, Benny Hinn, T.D. Jakes, Pastor Eddie Lee Long and many many others are behaving exactly the same in rich countries with full of rich people as their followers.
It is something they feel is Biblical.
There is a video of Creflo A. Dollar in the USA conjuring his followers to throw dollars at him to swim in the dollars and later will take all the cash of course.

Joshua is a charlatan who is typical of many charismatic Christian Ministers, Preachers, Televangelists, self-proclaimed apostolic prophets etc. who, in lieu of a coherent and rational theology, feel inclined to resort to fake charismatics such as faith healing, prophecy, talking in tongues, casting out demons, miracle illusions, cheap magic tricks (i.e. levitating), shamanism, and other charades and shams, in an effort to “win souls for Christ” by any means necessary.
This form of ministry seems to be prevalent in many poor countries and areas where the population is often uneducated, desperate, hungry, and spiritually vulnerable. That these charlatan Christians unscrupulously take advantage of these people is utterly dishonorable and disgraceful. I think Christian Trinitarian theology actually (albeit inadvertently) often encourages delusions of grandeur amongst a certain cadre of its followers which often result in these Christians actually coming to believe that they are directly inspired, imbued with God’s power, or that they are Prophets chosen by God, or even God himself. Doc Duvalier and Idi Amin are two perfect examples, not to mention the deceptive Apostolic-Prophetic Movement. T.B. Joshua falls into the category of false prophets. He recently falsely prophesied that Hillary Clinton would win the U.S. Presidency. I realize the Bible contains verses regarding false prophets but that doesn’t seem to deter certain people of Christian background from claiming prophethood or even at times Godhood nor does it stop so many Christians from following them. The fact that TB Joshua has the audacity to call himself a Prophet is unbelievable, what’s even more unbelievable are the fools who follow such people. Alas, this seems to be the end result when you combine revivalist faith based redemption with evangelistic apostolic prophetic movement – Gullible people incapable of free rational independent thinking placing blind faith in a charismatic “living prophet” who always turns out to be a charlatan and a fraud – sheer lunacy!
This problem is due to the fact that Christian Theology is very confusing to the lay person and does not draw clear lines, in regard to who is or isn’t a prophet, and even as to if there can be other Gods, or if God can incarnate into someone now today. Therefore it can become hard for the lay person to differentiate between truth and falsehood within Christianity. Such a problem can be disastrous to the individual salvation, of the individual caught up in such misguidance, not to mention the divine punishment in store for the one who is misguiding others under such a delusionary belief.
In Contrast Islam is very clear that God is absolute and unique in his Oneness, there is none other like unto him, and he has no need to incarnate, while Prophet Muhammad (sws) is the last and final Messenger and there are no other Messengers after him. Because the guidance in the Qur’an is so clear, there is no such phenomena as “living Prophets” and “God-Men” in Islam, and if there was Muslims would quickly rebuke, denounce and ridicule them as the con-artists that they are.
