Polygamy anyone?

The background to this tweet concerns ongoing arguments in the Roman Catholic church about Pope Francis seeming to allow remarried Catholics to receive holy communion (which is contrary to traditional church teaching). Why not polygamists? These marriages were acceptable in the Bible and never condemned by God. Xander Lucie-Smith is a Catholic priest and editor of the Catholic Herald.

  1. If God thinks that polygamy is such a brilliant idea, why are girls born in equal numbers as boys?

  2. No proper answers to that question I notice. The numbers of marriageable adults are actually fairly equal, in societies with peaceful conditions and where most men attain a marriageable age.
