Recently White, in one of his DL’s made mean-spirited comments towards Paul as well as his usual marginalization tactics and he gave it the don’t dare to debate me act.
The guy cannot take criticism. I just don’t see Shabir behaving like that, even when Sam Shamoun called in and was shouting etc. Shabir just remained calm. White can learn from Shabir in more ways than one.
I read James Dunn’s book responding to Hurtado, I do need to go through it again to pick up on the nuances there, one thing I’ve noticed about these scholars is that they do have a completely different tone to the evangelical types. These historical scholars do not have the same faith in the Gospel texts as the evangelicals thus they come to differing conclusions.
