      You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

      Basically the answer you’ll get from a protestant is: “Well, yes it says that Baptism saves but what it really means is that Baptism doesn’t save. And James says we’re justified by works and not by faith alone but really he means we’re justified by faith alone and not works.”

      This is what protestants like James White will say and in the next breath he’ll attack Catholics for not believing in sola scriptura.
