I heard some pesky sheep ate a few verses. Then again, they tend to eat their own placenta too.

Salamun alaikum,
Paul, do you have contact with him? If you do then please send him this one here: https://mafqudwamawjud.wordpress.com/2016/07/12/did-muhammad-quote-paul/, the Hadith al-Qudsi seems to be the exact phrase Paul said and has its absolute origin in Isaiah, though the hadith is closer to Paul’s quote, not to Isaiah’s.

Unfortunately he tends not to reply to all emails as he gets a huge number from across the world, as you can imagine.

Probably, this passage a jewish forerunner, as some scholars suggested https://books.google.de/books?id=ff2ZAAAAQBAJ&pg=PA253&lpg=PA253&dq=thomas+gospel+paul+2:9&source=bl&ots=VlxEpQbgF6&sig=rHGgv3KggCph1n1NNEdIY5ZDXbs&hl=de&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjEtJequ_DNAhXmI8AKHeVkC5QQ6AEIKTAC#v=onepage&q=thomas%20gospel%20paul%202%3A9&f=false while others disagreed https://books.google.de/books?id=JSuLCgAAQBAJ&pg=PT62&lpg=PT62&dq=thomas+gospel+paul+2:9&source=bl&ots=8xiogoITMD&sig=S-nTf3tDlxdD2_tN7PdyYXpfcys&hl=de&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjEtJequ_DNAhXmI8AKHeVkC5QQ6AEIJDAB#v=onepage&q=thomas%20gospel%20paul%202%3A9&f=false. Whatever the case is, as we all know, the great difference between the Quran and the Qudsi ahadith is that latter one is not the direct word of God but rather indirectly displayed to us. This passage was indeed a famous quote used by christians often, so maybe it was knowingly reused to make them attentive to turn to the real religion. And God knows best.
