Modernity deprives us of the most basic right of all: the right to be traditional.

  1. Tradition is important to the survival of any society, culture, or faith. Collectively speaking, without tradition we would have no knowledge of our cultural and theological norms, rituals, disciplines, practices. The scriptures of our various faiths have been passed down to us through tradition. Our heritage and the accumulated wisdom of the ages, and the consensus of the scholars and sages on important issues regarding the human condition and experience, are contained within, and passed down to us through tradition.
