  3. Men are the overwhelming majority of rape victims

Male rape has been called “The most closely guarded secret of American prisons.” (Weiss and Friar 1974)

There are estimated to be over 300,000 male rapes per year in American prisons and jails.

Meanwhile A United Nations statistical report compiled from government sources showed that more than 250,000 cases of male-female rape or attempted rape were recorded by police annually. The reported data covered 65 countries.

  4. According to the 2009 United States National Crime Victimization Survey estimates, only 55% of rapes and sexual assaults were reported to law enforcement officials. When a male is raped, less than 10% are believed to be reported. Female-male and female-female rape are ignored altogether in this survey.

  6. Authu billah !
It’s really sad and scary to know about this reality.

  7. So sad. Prisons need to do more to help prevent this if they are serious about trying to rehabilitate criminals in prison. My concern here is that the prison system in the US is a business so allocating resources for victims and rape prevention is not going to be a high priority

  8. this is western punishment system. they can prevent but they dont.everything is intentional. if you deny this fact you also intentionally lying. in usa prostitution is illegal but available everywhere. porn considered legal and not prostitution. usa porn industry produce more than 13000 thousand movies each year. every half hour or so one new movie come out to market. result is rape, homosexuality, child pornography and high rate of divorce. in western society people are neglected. they considered as tax payer and shopper. watch this iceberg and se the part of the tragedy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0q_VGacfNk
