You are confused.
The meme in Paul’s post says that god is personal, – that’s the part where Polkinghorne says that we have personal encounters. Not sure what that means to you.
Unless to you “personal encounter” means feeling the wind, or the sea, or sunshine, is some kind o personal encounter with god. That would make you a pantheist pagan, though.
