‘Sub specie aeternitatis’ was filmed at CERN, the international particle physics laboratory that operates the world’s largest and highest-energy particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The LHC is expected to address some of the most fundamental questions of physics, advancing human understanding of the deepest laws of Nature.
In an attempt to find meaning within the questions they are asked, a group of particle physicists consider the limitations of science, revealing their own philosophical confines. Issues of faith, consciousness and the laws of Nature are raised to illustrate the infinitely complex universe we live in.

Of late , this question is tearing me apart , what caused the universe or us ? . If we say God , then , according to me, we have to swallow him as a brute fact with no explanation at all . If no God then there is no meaning to existence and a disheartening end to us.
Paul or anyone … Pls help me here

All Theists (be they Christian, Jew, Muslim, deist, etc) believe that there is an uncaused Cause of all that exists, an eternal, conscious Being with will and purpose.
Therefore once we understand this definition it is meaningless to ask who created or brought into existence such a Being.
How do we know that such a Being exists? Here is a good place to start:

. “If no God then there is no meaning to existence and a disheartening end to us”………the atheists state that they’ve already come to terms with that tragic state of affairs. Do you imagine they really have?

” If we say God , then , according to me, we have to swallow him as a brute fact with no explanation at all”………the Quran gives you a fair explanation, but yes , reality is a brute fact that has to be swallowed..eventually, after a long (lifelong maybe in many cases) chew. Submission= submission to the fact. The sooner we submit the sooner we can get busy with real living. God is a fact. Now how do we handle that?

A mate of mine drives that thing, the whatyamacallit? the fast accelerating large collider. He’s only a driver mind, but he’s skeptical that they’ll ever find anything worth showing.

Does that come in automatic transmission? Do they still make them with a double clutch? Is it anything like driving a big forklift?
