  6. story about woman caught in adultery

“authentic stories of jesus christ in the oral tradition”

written in a greek using words not found in all of john ?
one can imagine the time gap between the written story and oral saying must be huge .

yet christians still accept these stories even though they are written by a different mind which was not johns mind.

    • Didn’t this get removed completely because it was a forgery/later addition?

    • Since the story is from a different mind, how can Christians be sure that the unknown author’s mind was an “inspired” mind? Seems like thinking Christians would quickly recognize the serious nature of this problem, but alas……….

  7. ehrman says :

“its writing style is very different from what we find in the rest of john(including the stories immediately before and after) ; and it includes a large number of words and phrases that are otherwise alien to the gospel…”

    misquoting jesus page 65

now when did the story come about?

AFTER the WRITING or BEFORE the WRITING?

christians assume that the story EXISTED before the writing.

this is just a guess without any proof .

when gospel of thomas made up stories about jesus, they will say

    “WRITING came BEFORE the story”

so they have story which is clearly from a different mind

but will make desperate attempt and say that imaginary story existed in ancient mouth narrating to another.
