Homosexuality is an addiction that should be treated both through punishment (corporal punishment along with boycott and detention) and medical treatment for those who seek to change their behaviour. Homosexuality has already become the harbinger of the death of at least 40 million people that have died of AIDS so far. Its legalization will surely lead to more people succumbing to it with greater spread of AIDS and other sex related diseases. There is a need to sexually isolate the HIV infected rather than legalizing homosexuality in the name of AIDS so that they do not spread HIV to others.Medical Sciences also say that (I have learnt it during a lecture in Immunology) Homosexual activity in males can cause infertility. That’s because if semen is ejaculated to the rectum during the homosexual intercourse, it can contact white blood cells (the lymphocytes) which start produce antibodies against sperms. Later those antibodies start destroying the man’s own sperms. This means that the man cannot have children.I have mentioned this because many Christian people still believe that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. Therefore, even if a person thinks that he/she is a homosexual, then he/she needs to work on removing this evil desire from their heart and mind.Every weird and unnatural act cannot be entertained under the guise of freedom. If this is allowed future generations will consider these as normal. Subsequently society will be filled with these immoral people. If mankind (males and females) were to engage solely in homosexuality and lesbianism then, barring cloning and non-sexual means of conception/reproduction,in about a hundred years time mankind will be extinct.

This has to be the single most hate-filled piece written about homosexuals I have ever read, anywhere.

Not at all. The first comment on it, which advocates, among other things, punishing homosexuals. It’s scary stuff.

Aids has indeed affected many homosexuals, but the greater proportion of Aids victims are heterosexual. Surely you’re not saying 40 million homosexuals died of it? What your argument should be is that sex outside marriage spreads disease. That way you might keep your audience?

I don’t think this to be medically true.

Salaam. If we have to remain credible, we can’t use false arguments. So I agree with Abdullah. Secondly what if someone uses condom that prevents semen to contact WBC? Does the act become OK then?

It is very interesting that in the Providence of God, you gave a lecture on an issue that the Islamic view is closer to the Biblical view; and yet only a few posts earlier, you promote a scholar in a book on a different issue, that in this debate runs contrary to nature, logic, reason, and Scripture. Dr. Kirk’s exegesis on the homosexual issue is so awful that is hard to take him seriously on his exegesis on claiming that the Synoptics ONLY talk about Jesus as a human only, and don’t have anything to say about His Deity.

I do not ‘promote a scholar’ – I recommend a serious academic work on a subject of great interest to me.
Your motivation in pulling him down is because you disagree with his exegesis of the gospels which prove that Jesus did not claim to be God and did not think he was God. Your attempt at irrelevant character assassination is pitiful.
We can all see through you Ken.

listen to the debate and see if you think his exegesis is even a little credible.

No thanks. You just want to destroy his credibility. Transparent.
I am reading his new book and I am learning a great deal from it. He is clearly a world class scholar on the gospels. He research stands shoulder to shoulder with other works by top scholars on the subject I have read.

I don’t want to destroy his credibility; rather, he did that himself by his crazy lack of scholarship in the debate above.
Since you did a lecture on that subject; seems you should listen to it.

Ken don’t lie. You have a strong need to take him out because he is a threat to your ridgid fundamentalism.
So obvious lol

Lol – he is hardly a threat, because his exegesis and scholarship is so pitiful.
Larry Hurtado is more serious.

Lol. Is Hurtado to be dismissed as a liberal scholar too lol

He is a much higher level of intellectual scholarship than Kirk.

lol you just love to put him down.
I asked you: Is Hurtado to be dismissed as a liberal scholar too? Maybe he has some sin you can expose to discredit him too?

Ken Hurtado is no help to you either!…both Hurtado and Kirk have trashed some of your feable christological presumptions that your stubbornly adhere to… let it go Ken…. let it go!…

Thank you Paul for delivering this lecture which I’m sure will be of great help to Muslims struggling with these desires.

Allan, are there any Catholic speakers that you’re aware of who speak in the topic of homosexuality and faith?
Thanks

There was a talk about it by a priest in my city a while back which was excellent. This priest along with two other priests in my city run an apologetics blog. He gave the talk and it was recorded. Here’s the link:

Interesting lecture, so Paul would you say that Islam is more tolerant to Homosexuals than Christians?
LikeLike
what do you mean by ‘tolerant’?
The Pew Reseach Center says:
‘A comprehensive demographic study of more than 200 countries finds that there are 2.18 billion Christians of all ages around the world, representing nearly a third of the estimated 2010 global population of 6.9 billion.’
I have no idea what 2.18 billion Christians think. Do you?

Sorry meant to say Christianity aka the doctrine is less tolerant to homosexuals and homosexuality than Islam? Or to put it another way would you say Islam as a doctrine is more tolerant of homosexuals and homosexuality than Christianity?
Now as far as you personal experience with Christians and Muslims. Would you say that Muslims are more tolerant of homosexuals and homosexuality than Christians?
Not asking about the billions you don’t know just the few that you do?

“Christianity aka the doctrine” – but which Christianity?
Of the Roman Catholic Church today or in the past? The Church of England?
Or the Christianity of the churches in Nigeria or Egypt or China or Texas?
Your questions are too vague and generalised to answer. I suspect you will find a very wide range of views expressed in ‘Christianity’ from churches advocating the death penalty for homosexual acts (as the Bible teaches) to open support for gay marriage. If you want to know the Islamic view then see my lecture.
And you have still to define what you mean by “tolerant”.
Back to you..

Yes Paul what do you have to be afraid of? Its almost like you have something to hide. As far as my definition of tolerance its what ever you define it as. Im not asking if I think this or that is more tolerant Im asking you. So how ever you define tolerance do you find that Muslims and Islam as a religion is more tolerant of Homosexuals?
Or is it that Islam and Muslims in general have the same attitude about gays as Ibn Adam
“Homosexuality is an addiction that should be treated both through punishment (corporal punishment along with boycott and detention) and medical treatment for those who seek to change their behaviour. Homosexuality has already become the harbinger of the death of at least 40 million people that have died of AIDS so far. “So how ever you define tolerance do you find that Muslims and Islam as a religion is more tolerant (than Christianity) of Homosexuals?”
It’s a very difficult question to give a black and white answer for all the reasons I have already stated. It is amusing that you have abandoned any atempt to define what you mean by tolerant. We are clearly not going to get anywhere with this convesation.
