A Christian asks : Why Didn’t God Heal Nabeel Qureshi? Was he cursed by Allah?

Problem verses in the New Testament:

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. ~ James 5:14-15

Then Jesus appointed twelve, that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach, and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons. ~ Mark 3: 14-15

Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. ~ Acts 5:16

  1. Regardless of whether his illness was God’s punishment or not (I personally don’t take a position either way and I would never makes such a bold accusation), one thing is clear, the prayers of all Nabeel’s Christian fans did not help to heal him as the Bible clearly promises……this alone could be a sign from Allah that the Bible is unreliable and promises more than it can deliver.

The question posed by the Christian seems to indicate that at least some may be in danger of losing their faith in Christianity over this issue.

May Allah guide them into the light of Islam.

  2. This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 John 5:14

The Christian is correct in the first section up until the end of his remarks – the 3:25 mark.

We are not promised health, worldly wealth, no suffering, or long life.

  3. I like what the Muslim Abu Ayoub says about brothers in humanity, trials and tribulations, and that we cannot say that the sickness and death are not necessarily a punishment from God; and that we have to separate apologetics from the reality of sickness and death and not try and judge them.
    Good job.

    • typo, should have been:

      we cannot say that the sickness and death are necessarily a punishment from God;

Nabeel had a very godly and humble attitude during those trials and pain. He desired healing, nothing wrong with that; and he gave glory to God and said, like Jesus, “not my will, but Thy will be done”
      Luke 22:42

  4. The Bible never guarantees healing, all the time, nor material wealth; nor long life.

    • Ken, some verses do in fact suggest that healing WILL happen (James 5:14-15) and some Christians have concluded that lack of faith is the reason for lack of healing.

    • Everything like this in dealing with prayer and asking for healing (or other things) should always be understood by “if the Lord wills”.
      see all those verses
Usually “those Christians” are the Charismatics, Pentecostals, and the word of faith heretics – they are unbalanced; and many are heretical.

  5. First of all, I think Nabeel was not honest rather he was a liar. He kept lying about Islam, and he was exploiting manipulatively the ignorance of zealous American christians. Also, I really have many questions about why he was hanging out with people like David Wood in the first place.

Second, I think Christianity as whole is so lacking when it comes to these big questions. In fact, christianity it’s so confusing, contradictory, and arbitrary. This can be seen in the Pauline understanding for this verse in Genesis 3:16 “To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
However, because Jesus did take the sins of these women who believe in him according to Paul, we expect that christian women would have no pain more during the giving birth. Jesus releases them, yet we all know what the reality is.
Moreover, christians and arrogantly are always telling us that they are sure that they would go heaven, so what is the matter now?
” Say, “If the Final Home with God is yours alone, to the exclusion of all other people, then wish for death if you are sincere.”
But they will never wish for it, because of what their hands have forwarded. God is aware of the evildoers.”
    QT

“The Jews and the Christians say, “We are the children of God, and His beloved.” Say, “Why then does He punish you for your sins?” In fact, you are humans from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what lies between them, and to Him is the return.
O People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you, making things clear to you—after a cessation of messengers—so that you cannot say, “No preacher has come to us, and no warner.” In fact, a preacher has come to you, and a warner; and God is Capable of everything.” QT

Finally, I’m not here to judge Nabeel rather I just said what I know about him. Each soul has its own story, and Allah عزوجل is the only ONE who’s all Knowing. However, Nabeel’s death should be a lesson for us. it’s very remarkable that after all that fake glamor around him, and how his fellows treated him as a hero, yet then God quickly took all of that as a blink of eye as if there’s nothing before. We may imagine what christians’ hopes are from him, and how a big project he was for them, yet the final word was for God alone
“They planned a plan, and We planned a plan, but they did not notice.
So note the outcome of their planning; We destroyed them and their people, altogether.
Here are their homes, in ruins, on account of their iniquities. Surely in this is a sign for people who know” QT

“You have come to Us individually, just as We created you the first time, leaving behind you everything We gave you. We do not see with you your intercessors—those you claimed were your partners. The link between you is cut, and what you had asserted has failed you.” QT

May Allah protect our Iman and Islam. Let’s rely on Allah عزوجل on that. Don’t rely on your smartness or your friends. The matter of hearts is for Allah عزوجل only. Ask Him alone to protect your faith.

    • nabeels response was kind of funny. imagine you seen a cancer patient and told him, ” i know you are experiencing cancer for 33 years , but i experienced it for 5 minutes all your 33 years of suffering ”

would you be angered by such a person?

how about a god who is able to SELF ABUSE himself and come out of his own PUNISHMENT at will?
now imagine if the guy who said i took all your pain for 5 minuites is able to GET out of cancer at will

where do you get that from?

Nowhere does the NT teach such a thing.

  7. Jesus entered into human experience and suffering for about 33 years.

Taking on the guilt and punishment of sin does not mean that there will be no more pain in this life. Where did you guys get such a notion?
    No credible Christian teaches that.

Only in the eternal state after the judgement will there be no more pain, for believers in Christ.
    Revelation 21:4
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

      The question is why NOT?
If that curse upon women got taken away by the god who died as (a curse) for you, why doesn’t it mean that there will be no more pain in this life?

We are the ones who ask not you. Got it?

And that why I said that christianity is so lacking when it comes to these big questions.
Your false prophet Paul has deceived you, and you can examine his false teachings by questions like this.

The true prophet ﷺ has come to you.
“The Jews and the Christians say, “We are the children of God, and His beloved.” Say, “Why then does He punish you for your sins?” In fact, you are humans from among those He created. 8. Abdullah, thanks for sending that video by of Nabeel Qureshi lying against Islam while exploiting the woman’s illness.

    Getting cancer is not rare.

But getting that particular type of cancer at that particular young age is very, very rare.

God says that those who earn ill gotten gains (in the context of taking wealth from orphans I think) are putting fire in their stomaches.

Nabeel Qureshi was making money while lying against Islam and lying in insinuating time after time that he was a mainstream orthodox Muslim.

Only God can judge and I will not make any definitive judgement regarding Nabeel Qureshi but the rarity of the fatal and painful disease he received in the stomach (interestingly Qureshi was even graduated medical school) should be a warning to those who care for their souls in the eternal hereafter.

I did not know before that Nabeel Qureshi’s home and town were flooded recently before his death.

That can be another warning to those who love and cherish their own souls.

  9. It’s not just about stealing from orphans but this verse also about fire in their bellies….

God knows best but less us ALL take a lesson before it is too late.

Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price – those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment. (Qur’an, 2, verse 174)
